IPGATE: SERIAL TO ETHERNET CONVERTERS

DESCRIPTION

IPGate is a serial to Ethernet converter that allows IP transmission of ansynchronous messages generated in serial ports, that travel through the network encapsulated in IP and are again recovered and trasmitted through a serial link at the other end with another IPGate. It accepts point to point communication as well as point to multipoint, for special requirements.

Since many years ago all kind of applications, appliances and electronic devices have used RS232 and RS422/485 asynchronous communication. Nowadays, it is necessary to extend these communication through IP networks, but still reusing the devices.

The IPGate converter, with a size similar to a cigarettes pack, transparently encapsulates asynchronous data and transmits them through TCP/IP netowrks.

There are other basic serial to Ethernet converters in the market, but Lanaccess offers a unique product in terms of performance and hardware and software adaptation to specific needs, like RS485 ports support, different fiber optics Ethernet ports, plug-ins, multicast transmission or specific encapsulation modes.
