ABERTIS GROUP MANAGES SECURITY VIDEO WITH LANACCESS DEVICES

ABERTIS PROFILE

ABERTIS is an international group which manages mobility and telecommunications infrastructures through three business areas: tollroads, telecommunications infrastructures and airports.
ABERTIS manages only in Spain more than 1.500 km of highways and a total of 3.527 km in all Europa. Likewise, ABERTIS has a very large nework of devices to control the highways: fiber optics cable, video cameras, encoders, call boxes, information panels, vehicle counting devices, etc.

ABERTIS REQUIREMENTS

ABERTIS needed an innovative solution to ease the management, because the communications technologies used to transfer video, audio and data were already obsolete. It was necessary to update all the transmission infrastructure from analog to digital but taking advantage of existing devices.

LANACCESS SOLUTION

Lanaccess prepared a project to migrate both field equipment and the control center equipment, based on IP communication and a flexible architecture with different control centers:

- PDH-SDH backbone migration to Giga Ethernet, taking advantage from existing devices
- More than 200 SOS call boxes and information panels accessed and managed through IP
- 300 cameras digitalized to MPEG4
- Public access of selected cameras to real time video through Internet web page
- Video cession to public organization responsible for safety on the roads
- Internal access to video images through intranet and Windows MediaPlayer
- One of the bigest multicast video networks in critical infrastructure in Spain

LANACCESS created a three-level access to images to improve security: control centers with maximum video quality, internal users distributed in the intranet and general public access through Internet.
ABERTIS achieved a complete digitalization and a general improvement in all the infrastructure.
